Electrifying learning at BSV

Do you know who invented the light bulb? In Year 2, we have been studying our new IPC topic, Electricity, and we have discovered such amazing things as the effects on static electricity or how to light a bulb and make a circuit.

To start with, we investigated the effects on static electricity and were amazed to find out about electrons and how they can travel. We were so excited to find out about the Van de Graaff Generator and how the electrical energy can even make our hair stand up! What a shocking start!

During the following sessions, we worked in groups to find out how to light a bulb. The children have been learning about safe and unsafe things to touch, Benjamin Franklin and Ted Edison. Moreover, the children have been learning how to cooperate and problem solve through creating their own electrical circuit!

Good job, Year 2!
